Boccia
Boccia is ball sport, like bowls. Boccia is played by teams of three. The aim of the game is to throw leather balls, coloured red or blue as close as they can to a white target ball. The white ball is thrown first, the first player who threw the white ball then the opposing side, after which the side furthest away from the white ball to either get closer to the white or knock the opposition ball out of the way. Each round will continue until one side has played all their balls, at which point, the opposing side will play their remaining balls. At the end of each round the referee measures the distance of the balls closet to the white and awards points accordingly. Boccia is played in Craoibhín Ballina every Thursday morning from 11 am to 1 pm. One gets the opportunity to complete in boccia competitions against other clubs away.
